Mahatma Gandhi

One of my new tasks is to write a post about a historic figure that is particularly interesting for me. I chose Mahatma Gandhi. I am sure that everyone heard about him. He was one of the most known peace activist. Mahatma was involved in fierce warfare and he was fighting not for his life, but was protecting civilian and to keep the peace in his country. All the time, he tried to avert war.
His entire life he tried to prevent war and violence. Also, he wanted to live not only in peace but in freedom. He did everything to make India independent from other countries. It caused a sensation. What is more, for very little time Mahatma Gandhi became a symbol of peace for India. In addition, vast number of  people were supporting his campaign. Mahatma Gandhi fought against caste inequality, religious intolerance.
In addition, he was holding different demonstrations where he was talking about importance of freedom and peace. Thanks to him in 1947 India without any bloodshed gained independence from Britain. All his actions brought about peace.  But after the split of the country began a massive conflict between Hindus and Muslims.  January 13, 1948 Gandhi declared a hunger strike unto death demanding to stop the bloodshed. It brought about a revolution and of course, produced many results.
In the fight for independence, Gandhi decided to boycott British goods. Indians prefer products of own production, although they are of poorer quality than English.
January 30, 1948 one of the most famous people in the world by anti-government conspiracy was killed. Dying in the arms of his nieces he showed that forgave his killer. This event had attracted a lot of criticism, caused uproal  and had a huge effect on everybody’s lives. Mahatna Gandhi was a hero for so many people.

Dear Victoria,
I am writing to you to tell about my new life in America. It is country of our future. America is thriving country. My trip to my new home was really long and the most length of this trip I was dreaming about how it would be.
First of all, I wasn’t aware of the fact that we had to leave our home to the time we went to the trip. Moreover, when border guard took our passports and stamped it in that moment I understood that we really set out and from that time we became refugees.

Also, I would like to thank you for your recommendations. When we stopped off at Ellis Island, we all tried to do as you said and it was really quickly. Then we got around to Ney York. It is so stunning and different of my native town. Unfortunately, the air is not very clean and my mom always tell me not to be on the open air all the time, because it does not me good. Hear you can see some photos of my new street and a map to see how great journey we did.

In addition, I tried new dishes. American cuisine is so different to my native. As you told me, I tried Egg Cream. It is remarkably diverse of all that I tried earlier. Also, my parents wanted me to go to school, so I do not work but must help my family and do all household chores. We have so much work to do and I totally do not laze around. Sometimes when I feel that I am bottle out, I get away from it all. One of my favorite entertainment is black-and-white movies.
In a place where we live, I have many friends. Most of inhabitants of our block are the same ethnic minorities as we are. Therefore, I do not feel nostalgia.
There is a stereotype that moving from native country is really huge cultural shock. But not for me. I am happy to be there. I hope that you can say the same. Write me soon.
With love,
Bella
